I believe the Berlin kitchen situation, when it comes to German food, is much better behind “closed” doors. Meaning Supper Clubs, studio dinners and so on. There is so much very creative stuff going on, but you’re absolutely right about the rest. Not that I wouldn’t like some Spätzle during the cold season.

Hallo, ich war gestern so um 11.15 dort und wurde deutlich darauf hingewiesen, dass man erst um 12 Uhr aufmacht. Schade, zumal ja überall 11 Uhr steht. Wohlgemerkt, es ging nicht ums Essen, man wurde sofort an der Eingangstür abgewiesen.

Service definitely needs improvement. I was there with sommelier friends and they rightfully complained about one of our wines’ quality (not revealing their profession). Waitress and owner told us that there was nothing wrong with the wine, brought up false facts and we left with a rather unpleasant impression. The location per se is nice though!

I just had lunch here after finding it on your site. Umm, WOW. I had a pork roast with red cabbage (sauerkraut) and a dumpling, and the second it arrived I wanted to just dive into the plate. I am American, so the sauerkraut was not what Americans typically think of — it was very sweet (and yummy). Sorry to make American comparisons, but … the dumpling was like American Thanksgiving stuffing smashed into a ball, so it was a little dense for me. The pork was perfectly cooked, and all the flavours went so well together, I’ve already inquired about going back for dinner with coworkers. Thanks for the reco!
