Schwarzhogerzeil at Berlin Mitte’s fashion-street Mulackstraße is one of those small boutiques you’ll wish to become a regular at just so you don’t miss out on any of the pretty items that Nicole Hogerzeil, owner and founder, brings back from the showrooms of Paris and London. She was the one who introduced Isabel Marant to Berlin, having been the first shop to offer her collection and still one of only three in Berlin. Besides, Schwarhogerzeil offers Cacharel, Tsumori Chisato and Elley Kishimoto (and very soon Carven), as well as the fabulous leather sandals by K.Jaques, a selection of jewelry by Sabrina Dehoff and cosmetics by This Works (who make a very fine Pillow Spray that gives you (or at least me) intense sleep and wild dreams).
The store is small, but with its myriad of mirrors it looks a lot bigger. The interior was created by Sylvester Koziolek. When he started by bringing in the pink, high-glossed chaise longue, Nicole was actually not very convinced, but in the end it all turned out very well and cohesive, giving the store a high-end, yet jovial look and feel.
