Shawn and Chris, two of the most important barristas during the beginning of The Barn, decided to leave the epicenter of Berlin’s Third Wave Coffee to start their own business within the space of Kreuzberg’s Voo store. Their small café bar just opened recently under the name Companion Coffee and is now serving coffee to fashionable Voo clients and Kreuzberg coffee–aficionados alike.

Their young business is still in development, soon there will also be filter coffee available and currently the food options are limited to some very delicious sweet treats with seasonal food baked by Shawn himself. Furthermore they’re serving their coffee at various events and also train people, and of course they’re strongly connected with the Berlin coffee scene. They’ll for example do a cupping coming Tuesday in their Kreuzberg space together with Bonanza Coffee.

A very nice new addition to Oranienstraße, certainly better than another random trashy burger place and I’m looking forward to see what these two boys are coming up with.
