Once I discovered Mankii last week, I felt the vintage hunting spirit rise in me again and decided to visit another fairly new spot just around the corner: Townes.
With a focus on brands and designer’s fashion, Townes is a higher priced vintage store, similar to Das Neue Schwarz and Rianna in Berlin, which are located in the same area.
Though, owner Shoko Kawaida is all about finding gems, may it be labeled or not and you’ll be surprised about her findings – like this one orange leather hand bag from the 70s in perfect condition that bears a striking resemblance to the Céline Trio hand bag seen on almost every fashionable girl around the globe today. Just that this one is not even 150 Euros.
That wasn’t the only thing tempting me to get out my wallet – I was particularly smitten with a 70s denim skirt by Yves Saint Laurent and only left it because I considered it too impractical when riding a bike. (?!)
Anyhow, Townes should be on your list when roaming the vintage stores of the city.
