Revisited: Turkish Market at Maybachufer

Whenever we have friends visiting, I can’t stop talking about the Berlin food scene and all the things they have to try while they’re here (trying to fit everything into only a few days time) – like the best hummus around the corner, followed by a stroll around Street Food Thursday and not to forget a Sunday picknick at Thai Park!

Links in Berlin: May weather

Up and down we go, there’s rain, then comes shine and then rain again. Ice cream in Berlin: Mos Eisley

Many of Berlin’s entrepreneurs are people who started out with the idea of wanting to do something different, they become so-called Quereinsteiger. Like Daniela Teuper, who went on a vacation to Italy and loved the gelato so much, upon her return, she wanted nothing more than to open her own ice cream shop.
Back in Germany, she decided to quit her job in the music industry to dedicate her time and passion to making delicious ice cream. Fast forward one year, she’s the owner of Mos Eisley, a parlor in Neukölln frequented by ice cream enthusiasts young and old.

Food in Berlin: Asparagus

It’s THE produce all Germans are waiting for each spring – this year the season started a lot earlier than usual, the short weeks of white-root-fun are treasured in many households. And I also tend to order asparagus every time I see it on a menu – I prefer the white queen classic style, with boiled potatoes and either brown butter or sauce hollandaise, nothing more. But fresh herbs are much appreciated. Where do you like to have your Spargel?
