How to Make it in Berlin: Rita in Palma

“You have to look at the person and say, ‘who are you, what can you do?’” With the growing number of refugees and immigrants moving to Berlin, Germany and all of Europe, this question is more important than ever.
At Neukölln’s Rita In Palma, the Turkish women of Berlin put their traditional handcraft skills to work creating luxury couture accessories. This small boutique provides these otherwise unemployed women with community, opportunity and good paying jobs.
You can find their intricate design work in select concept stores around the world, in the pages of German Vogue, and showcased in several collaborations with well-known German accessory lines.
Check out the story from founder Ann-Kathrin and visit the showroom in Neukölln.
