Berlin’s Best Burger: Winter Seasoning

Oh my god, this was everything!! You all showed up to get that heat going: steaming hot grills, boiling dance-floors, extra spicy sauces, and belly-warming buns. Celebrating, partying, and feasting despite winter is what we did at last Saturday’s Burgers & Hip Hop winter edition. All with the goal to find the most scrumptious winter burger among the competitors. We collected almost 600 votes for our talented grill masters, read on to find out who won the crown!

Without further ado, here are all five competitors with the final votes only revealed for the top three:

Mogg’s “Mighty Reuben” stacked slow cooked pastrami with Russian dressing, pickled cabbage and melted Swiss cheese, topping it with a giant pickled cucumber. This classic never fails to attract the crowds.

Newcomer Biagio Vagabond Bistro was probably the busiest vendor of the night, and the one with the most enthusiastic and chatty crew – their burger smothered a beef patty in parmesan cream and topped it with grilled guanciale pork cheeks.

Another classic and fan-favorite joined us for our winter edition – Butter Bronson’s Frank Drebin combines fried buttermilk chicken with smoky streaky bacon, their very own smoked pepper mayo and chunky guacamole, winning them 131 total votes in the competition and a glorious third place!

You all just love the South Asian flavors, don’t you? And proved it by awarding newcomer Khwan and their Emihen burger 134 total votes and thus the second place! Read this: flame grilled lemongrass “Gai yang” chicken came together with a “som tam” salad, prawn crackers for the crunch, and tamarind ketchup and sour fruit mayo for the punch. With extra chili for the courageous ones.

And here’s our reigning championGolden Burgers – this time, they placed their bets on an Austrian inspired burger creation, the “Mountain Man” came with baby spinach, camembert, walnut sauce, lingonberry chutney, and Tirolese speck and gained them 173 total votes!
