Links in Berlin: All hail!

We saw a quite impressive amount of hail going down this week, which might have been exactly what Florian meant when he told me that Berlin’s gonna pay for all those very beautiful but very early spring days we enjoyed this March. Anyhow, April is upon us and until now there’s no weather app telling us glory is vanishing (19 degrees tmrw, again!). Before you go out and frolic, here are the best links of the week:

Leaving Berlin: Achtland

I love Berlin fashion, you know that. So you might be able to imagine how my little fashion-heart almost broke to pieces when Thomas and Oliver, the genius minds behind ACHTLAND, told me they’re leaving Berlin and are going back to London. Of course I instantly knew that the business they’re building can only benefit from that step, still, sad patriotic emotions swept over me. I couldn’t help but ask them: WHY!?

Revisited: Street Food Thursday

It’s almost a year ago since the best foodie-invention since the Thai Market came to our lovely city and we’ve been enthusiastic fans of the glorious Street Food Thursday at Markthalle IX ever since. One of its qualities is the ever changing list of vendors. While starting with (and still often featuring) foodie stars like Fräulein Kimchi or Glücksmädchen; many new favorites have been added. It was about time to show you some (new) highlights.

Shop in Berlin: Lunettes’ opticians

You already know that Lunettes Selection is one of our favorite places when it comes to shopping for new (sun)glasses. Yet for those of us blessed with imperfect eyesight, the process was always a little elaborate; while you could shop for your frames on Torstraße, you had to get your glasses cut somewhere else. Those days of inconvenience are now over, as the Lunettes shop now also employs opticians to test and measure your eyesight. Just like their carefully curated selection of frames, though, this process is a little bit more tailored and personal than anywhere else.
