Yesterday saw the first Warm Up, a clothing donation event in support of Kältehilfe Berlin at Voo Store. And it was amazing. Never would I have expected so many people to come and donate, not speaking of the masses of winter warmers people brought in. In total over 250 people donated 1711 kg. Which is 1,7 tons of winter clothing. Which is in words one thousand seven hundred eleven kilogram. Can you believe it? I still can’t. But here are pictures:

It’s getting colder outside, and while most of us prepare for winter by consuming ginger tea and snapping pictures of the last rays of sunlight, for some people this upcoming time of the year is more than just a nuisance but a life threat. Stil in Berlin is all about the good things in life and our city, but we needn’t forget that many are not that lucky. So let’s start sharing:

When walking through Peckham during my stay in London, that’s sadly already almost four weeks in the past, I stumbled over a sign in front of a small café announcing they’d make one of the best sandwiches of London and have been awarded by the British Sandwich Association. Yes, that’s right, there’s an official institution, guarding the quality of the British sandwich and their url is, naturally, sandwich.org.uk. I love it.
