Mexican in Berlin: Neta

Okay, before you say something, I am not very well versed in that kind of food, so Neta might be serving Mexican, or a Californian version of Mexican food, I am not really able to tell – however, their tacos, tortillas, and burritos are delicious! And that means something, considering Mexican is not on my top list, but here in Mitte, the food is fresh, intense and features many delightful textures (which are not all mushy) and thus joins my list of lunch-favs in Mitte.

Brunch in Berlin: Papi Crunch

This is the first time an article on this very blog has the word “brunch” in the headline. This might not be a surprise, by now I have voiced my troubles with brunch and/or our lovely city’s breakfast offerings multiple times. However, my complaints were only made to motivate me for a restless search for the perfect morning meal, and you might be happy to hear about a new opportunity to indulge in international breakfast cuisine: Papi Crunch.

Mexican in Berlin: Burrito Baby

As it lay there before me in all its glory, I couldn’t help but remember the words of one foursquare-review, which called those bulging bundles newborn-sized. Wrapped in an almost white corn tortilla, white paper and nicely resting on a white plate with a slice of lime, the visual association easily crosses one’s mind. I mean, look ath the results of a short google picture search for “Burrito Baby”…
Tales surrounding this Neukölln burrito bar are heard throughout the city: eulogies of their delicious food as well as struggles with their inconsistent opening hours and at times impossible waiting lines. And finally I made it there (tried before, it was closed), to the place where the best Mexican food is served. And it’s vegan!
