Let’s start this year all new and fresh, with loads of motivation, and a shit ton to do. Because the Berlin food world isn’t standing still just because temperatures dropped below zero last week, or lovely white snow is covering everything, making the city very silent, and pretty. And I need a list of new places to defend the lurking winter depression, to keep me excited, and yes, to give me a reason to go outside instead of hiding from the grey cold under soft blankets all day. Tasting food at new places is certainly one of the things to get me out of my warm and cosy home during hibernation. If you’re anything like me, please use this list to make your schedule for the weeks coming. And if you need even more, have you checked off everything on the last list?

October is not as golden as we would want it to be, and November is usually not much better so draw your attention away from the outside and find out what’s new indoors. There are loads of new places serving new dishes to hungry Berliners: from homemade noodles, to vegan dumplings, Californian cooking, French soul food, Mexican fine dining and more. Berlin is here for you during these dark days.
Let’s go eat!
On this particularly pretty July day, I’m sharing with you a new list of places I wanna try in the next weeks, when finally summer is rolling in again. Some exciting locations opened their doors in the past weeks, manifesting Berlin’s spot on the international list of culinary destinations – from long awaited ice cream parlors, to even more local and seasonal dishes, Berlin is by now offering something for almost all flavor profiles. As usual, I’ve not eaten at these places yet, but what I know of them is promising enough to put them on my list. If you want more or just make sure you checked all on the previous lists, here’s the spring edition. Can’t wait to hear your reviews and thoughts, and maybe even loads more recommendations? Until then, happy eating!
Spring has sprung, my friends. Blossoms fill the air with their sweet scent, and finally! the precious, young leaves grow from trees in such fresh green colors. And people are feeling it too, it’s the time of renewal, the time for new projects, the time for new openings! And plenty there are. So here’s to a new list of new places we all have to try. (It’s quite Kreuzberg and Neukölln heavy this time, I’m afraid. This has a little to do with a personal bias and much with a current “trend”.)
As much as I want to stay out of the obsession with the brand-new, as much do I love the many additions Berlin’s food-scene is currently enjoying. Because I believe competition will make this city’s scene a lot better, will teach an audience to ask for improved menus, better produce, greater experiences. And thus benefit the food and farming scene.
I wanna give you a list of new places that opened in the last couple of months, which I’m looking forward to trying in the next weeks.
