Still Delicious: Chutnify

When I went to Chutnify for the first time a little over a year ago it was like a revelation – finally this city had a delicious Indian option! It came in creative South Indian street food dishes, colorful and fresh, full of flavor and bursting with color. Over the year, this pretty place managed to expand its presence with stands at Street Food Thursday and adding a brunch menu to their location in Prenzlauer Berg. I went back a couple weeks ago to check if I still liked their food. And surprise, I really did.

Pasta in Berlin: Pastificio Tosatti

After years of average Italian food in Berlin (with some exceptions), German’s most loved cuisine is experiencing a hype – with interesting concepts and especially new sources for Italy’s biggest pride: fresh and hand-made pasta. And Pastificio Tosatti just off Helmholtzplatz will satisfy your cravings for Italian noodles in all shapes and sizes.

Chinese in Berlin: Shan Shan

After telling you that this one grim imbiss on Seestraße is serving delicious Chinese food last summer (only to row back on that recommendation when their chef left this winter) I am now asking you to enter a completely unremarkable guesthouse in Prenzlauer Berg, take a seat in their lobby/restaurant area, and enjoy some very delicious Chinese dishes.
A bit too much, you say? Yes, the place looks seriously unremarkable and advertises its food with a sign saying “Asian European Kitchen”. Besides their food business, the same space functions as reception desk, bar, lobby and breakfast area for the guesthouse on the upper levels of the same house. However, its kitchen is run by a very talented Chinese cook, and serves delicious traditional dishes to adventurous eaters (who don’t care about interior design). Seriously.

Cidre in Berlin: Comptoir du Cidre

Last Friday I cycled up to Prenzlauer Berg to indulge in a night of ciders and cheese happening at Comptoir du Cidre in cooperation with Brie et ses amis, an online-shop for cheese. Wait what!? An online shop for cheese? What has become of this world, you ask? But if you put your doubts aside, my friend, you’re in for a treat. Because this cider and cheese feast is delicious.
