Guide: The best shops for Christmas gifts in Berlin

For some of you this little list might come way too late. For others, like myself, who just started to think about Christmas gifts this week, it might be a lot of help. Of course, there are loads of other options to get the perfect gift, it just happens that these are my favorits, the ones I rely on. Hope they’ll help you as much as they helped me. Have a merry holiday!
Something to wear:
If you got a dapper dandy on your gift list, check these classics:
If your gift of choice is supposed to be a fashionable item with a history, I say try these high quality vintage stores:
If you’re in the mood for some very current international clothing with an interesting yet wearable design, why not take a look at the selection at
If you’re more about supporting your local heroes, shop Berlin fashion with the help of this list and at:
Konk (Kleine Hamburger Straße 15, Mitte),
Baerck (Mulackstrasse 12, Mitte),
F95 (Luckenwalder Strasse 4-6, Kreuzberg)
If you’re looking for something more streetwear, possibly in a limited edition that is only sold on one certain day I recommend you take a look at these very fine menswear stores in Mitte:
Firmament (Linienstraße 40, Mitte) or
If you’re looking for this one very special accessory to give, visit
Oona Gallery (Auguststrasse 26, Mitte).
Something to play with:
If you want your presentee to take images to remember, get him or her one of those old-fashioned yet oh-so-stylish polaroid cameras at
If you’re more the DIY type, get your material at
Something to read:
If you want the lucky one to get a whole lot of smarter then choose one of the clever books sold at
If you’re more in the mood for a high quality photo book, I say go to
If your person of choice is English speaking only (or also), get him/her a novel/essay/biography/diary/poetry/… at
If you are looking for a hard to find, uniquely edited magazine, this is your shop:
Something to groom:
If you want your gift to focus on the well-being, scent and touch, get one of those very beautiful products at
If your gift is supposed to be all-good, I recommend the all organic detergents in detox-packaging at Walachei (Max-Beer-Strasse 31, Mitte, only until Dec 20th!).
Something to devour:
If your presentee loves a no-bullshit bakery, visit Soluna (Gneisenaustraße 58, Kreuzberg) for the perfect treat.
If you like it the traditional way, find your way to Manufactum’s Brot&Butter store (Hardenbergstraße 4-5, Charlottenburg).
If you rather pass on anything animal, choose your tasty gift at the vegan supermarket Veganz (Schivelbeiner Straße 34, Prenzlauer Berg).
If you’re all about third-wave coffee, how about an in-house roasted coffee from
If you want your gift to be made of leafs instead of beans, try this new store:
All of the above:
If you’ve got no time to roam the streets for gifts, just get anything from Andreas Murkudis or Voo (Oranienstraße 24, Kreuzberg), everyone will be happy about that.

Very good guide, it’ll hopefully help me a lot since I didn’t buy ANY christmas present yet. To my mind, the best place to buy books in Berlin is Dussmann, I especially adore the new english book shop :)xoxo, N.http://aheartforhermes.wordpress.com
