Beyond doubt, there’s been somewhat of a street food craze happening in our lovely small town of Berlin. It feels like everyone and there mom now does a street food stall, every mall has a street food court and every day of the week can be spend on a street food market. However, the success of a street food event is decidedly depending on the food quality of its vendors, and since Berlin is still new in the food business, there are only so many good chefs making delicious and street appropriate food, consequently, not every event applying the much coveted street food label to itself has managed to create a worth while foodie experience. Next to my forever favorite event Street Food Thursday, there’s one serious contender for the crown: Bite Club. The outdoor market is back on its original turf, and has assembled amazing talent, making the club better than ever! Enjoy my favs (and I haven’t even tried them all) and mark your calendars with June 5th for the next Bite Club!

To stay with all things ice cream, here’s an important announcment: Die Eismacher, home of the acclaimed intensely violet Ube ice cream gracing the main picture of our beloved guide to Berlin’s best ice cream, moved! Luckily, just around the corner and into a much brighter and nice space. Pictured here is Ube, made of a Philippine yam, topped with raspberry and coriander milk. Delicious! Check their new location on the map and plan your ice cream date asap.
I literally can’t even tell you how excited I am about this one – it’s been a dream of mine to do something like this for a long time. Some of you might know my personal enthusiasm when it comes to ice cream (also known as: one of the best things in the world). And to bring the best ice cream vendors of our beloved city together for a market is making my inner five-year-old jump for joy! And to do so with my dear friends of This is Jane Wayne and enjoying the support of mint & berry will make this one into an extra-special love-fe(a)st. I hope I will be able to welcome you to: The Ice Cream Market.

A couple years back, I used to spend many weekend afternoons at Münzstraße, waiting for well dressed people to pass by and taking their photo to put on this very blog. Walking along the street today I sometimes can’t believe how much changed since then – it seems like new stores open every week, new brands take over what once was the epicenter of Berlin fashion with the result that the street looks entirely different than five years ago. With crowds of shoppers filling the streets and cafés, one can easily feel lost today – change has been quintessential to Berlin and it has brought the city many good things, and so not everything around Münzstraße feels lost – enter the courtyard of Münzstraße 21 and you’ll find a coffee and sweets haven: Father Carpenter Coffee.
This is a market I wanted to visit for ages, but most of my Saturday mornings’ aren’t for making plans or fulfilling duties and thus it has taken me a while to cycle down to this small but beautiful farmers’ market in the heart of Kreuzberg. And what a gem it is, despite it featuring only about 20 or so stalls, the selection is well made, making it possible to do all your grocery shopping here, including a lunch and very fine coffee. But read on:
