It’s a special occasion to dine as fine as one will at Les Solistes, a restaurant by Pierre Gagnaire, one of the most popular chefs of today’s French cooking. In Berlin, he created a casual fine dining restaurant inside of Hotel Waldorf Astoria in 2013, where the Belgian Roel Lintermans is head chef. Lintermans gained the restaurant its first Michellin star and16 Gault Millau points in the first year after opening, and was awarded the title “Berliner Meisterkoch” last year. You’re in for a treat, is what I want to say. It is very special to eat here, because Lintermans’ food is outstanding, refined, elegant, fresh, balanced and will have you leave very happy.

Finally! Feels like we waited months for a new edition of our favorite block party to come back, but here we go: Burgers & Hip Hop is happening this Saturday and it’s going to be amazing. Because the theme is hotter than ever, and this hotness will smooth out whatever shitty June weather Berlin enforces upon us: we’re celebrating the spicy edition. The patty party will once again happen in the backyard of Prince Charles, with loads of space for those beautiful burger trucks. Of course, the wonderful Burger Feast ticket that gets you all the burgers is also back. Read on to find out more!
Guys, it’s almost time.
Time to replace breakfast, brunch, lunch, teatime and dinner with the best treat of summer: ice cream. This Saturday This is Jane Wayne, mint & berry and myself will host the first Ice Cream Market at Haubentaucher. This means hours and hours of frozen delight, fun in the sun and splashing in the pool. Yes, the pool is real and big and swimmable, so pack your towels, bring your extra ice-cream-stomach and read on to find out who’s serving us sweet, sweet pleasures!
This post and the ice cream market are made in cooperation with mint&berry.
I’ve been looking forward to eating in this restaurant on Sonnenallee in Neukölln for a long time. Not only because it’s been on the list of the 10 restaurants I want to try this Spring, but mainly because people have been raving about it, asking if I’ve already been, how I liked it, etc. With some of them even adding that they really wanted me to like this place. And… I do. I don’t only like it, I downright fell in love with their food. With their beautiful radishes, their tempura lemon (!) and their divine veggie bacon… I loved it! And I am pretty sure you will too.
Love hip hop, hate homophobia? Me too. I also hate sexism and a macho attitude and so do Stitch & Tchuani, the makers of Berries, an unsual hip hop party that was born almost a year ago. When I went to my first Berries night and danced like no one was watching, I looked around and was almost puzzled by the lack of gender stereotypes I faced at most other hip hop events I had gone to. Instead of gangster and bitch clichees I saw guys making out with each other and ladies rocking the turntables and dance floors. Also, the music was way beyond the ususal charts’ best of. Hanno Stecher and Dominik Djialeu compare their pearl diving (in the sea of hip hop music that is) to picking berries. Hence the name. I sat down with the duo and asked them about their concept and what to expect at OHM this Friday.
