Berlin Fashion Week is rolling and I was lucky enough to attend the show of one of my favorites: Hien Le. He presented his new designs for summer 2016 in the chic halls of Kronprinzenpalais on Unter den Linden for a selection of guests. If we trust Le, we’re all gonna look even sportier next summer, however, he created a very sophisticated version of the sportswear trend with materials that are too delicate to risk any rolling on the grass. This collection featuring boxy short-sleeved shirts and flowing tennis-skirts is more to look active while sipping some white wine at a roof-top party. I loved the colors and their refreshing combinations, as always, and already made my shopping-list for my tennis inspired look next summer.
His color palate graduated from an intense apple green in combination with white – like this gorgeously layered skirt or a white cotton fabric with small embroidered tennis racks that looked like light blue dots – went on to a deep emerald and army green, denim blue and then on to a light apricot. The cuts and shapes were simple and straightforward as known from Le, but for this season he added some layered details, cut-open the backs and fronts of otherwise demurely collared tops, and combined all his looks with a patent white loafer. And who would’ve thought that light blue in combination with army green would look that fresh? He kept some of his signature pieces, like the bomber jackets, this time in light blue. The stunner for me was a white dress with a layered pleated skirt, that instantly won my heart. As much as the sleeve-less shirt in chambray with steel blue shorts that I can see myself sporting any time next summer.
