Christmas Gift Guide: Interior

The art of gift giving is beautiful – if it’s done right, it’s a pleasure for the receiver, and a support for the community. So why not skip your plan to order all presents last minute online and have a little spree at local shops, supporting those who are keeping our cities lively and small producers alive. Stil in Berlin’s gift guide wants to lead you to small businesses in our lovely city, and while we recommended presents for the food lovers in your life last week, this time we’re suggesting places to shop at for smaller and bigger home improvements.

Hallesches Haus
The best place to shop for every day items in a way-better-than-usual design: like ceramic plant hangers, brass measuring cups, amber & moss candles, kelim cushions, or cactus vases. Read more here.
Of Berlin
A new pop-up featuring only Berlin design, from booze to tea and interior objects made from concrete, wool, ceramics and wood by brands like Hänska, Fundamental, Oak, Sawade and many more. Probably the most local of them all and they also offer custom gift sets.

Parkhaus
This interior store’s allure is never ending because their selection changes with the weeks, depending on the travels of the owners, making sure you’ll always find something you wanna give.
District Six
Featuring design from South Africa is what makes this one special. Their colorful creations range from wallets to furniture, jewelry, wine, and (soon) wallpapers, designed to deliver some instant happiness.

Vintage Galore
This Neukölln vintage store specialized in Scandinavian furniture and also offers many lamps, ceramics and table wear. Perfect if you like to give something with a history.
Herr und Hund
Dogs have always received lots of attention in Berlin, this store pushes the design aspect with carefully selected and beautifully made dog products, from organic treats to handcrafted leashes and stylish beds, as well as dog literature.

Süper Store
Everything here is pretty much süper, and, after a recent renovation, even süperer: carefully selected products like binchotan coal, flowery paperweights, Mattiazzi chairs, stork shaped scissors, Saskia Diez jewelry, and giant crocheted lemons by Anne-Claire Petit.
minimum im Aufbauhaus
If you wanna give something that is on the forefront of current interior-trends, check the huge selection of cool brands like Muuto, Hay, Norman Copenhagen, Menu, Fritz Hansen, plus a number of Berlin based brands like New Tendency and L&Z.
Luiban
From masking tapes to Takeo paper notebooks, brass products by Futagami, and a big selection of Kaweco writing utensils, this store is here to slow you down and start consciously writing and carefully wrapping again.

ting
This one is pretty cute: woolen hot-water bottle covers, painted egg cups, brass plant pots and much more to make a home a lot cosier.
Stue
All up for the vintage? Stue offers mainly Danish furniture and accessories, like beautiful lights, ceramics and stools, all cleaned and fixed.

Bless
It’s not only their idea of embellished extension cords, but also their cushions with stone prints, woven photo printed blankets and furry usb sticks, that makes this the perfect holiday gift destination.
