Stil: in Berlin Winter

Dressing for Berlin winter ain’t easy – one rarely wears enough layers, and colors seem to be very hard to come by. The streets of Berlin are swamped with people in black coats over anthracite sweaters and grey pants. And yet, wearing some colorful winter attire can actually make your day a lot better. Which is why I’m advocating for more reds, blues and, yes, pink with this outfit.

I don’t want to exclude myself, I’ll admit that wearing black in its many shades can be a very comforting thing, and that I’d rather go for a black coat than, say, a pink one. But once in a while I’m longing for intensity in these long months of grey. When I found this bright red Marques’Almeida jumper on Farfetch, and then later felt the softness of the wool when it arrived at my house, I knew this one would save me from winter depression many times.

It’s cut is a bit complicated, so actually getting it on you is not really easy, but once you’ve done it, the ribbed knit is doing a great job of hugging you all day long. I’ve combined it with a very wide legged pants in blue wool by Weekday, and some light pink suede Stan Smith by adidas, just to push the color theme even more. And no, those shoes don’t do well with the Berliner slush, so for now, I’m wearing them as my Hausschuhe.
