A new addition to my Dogs in Berlin series! One for when you’re in the mood to spoil your pup. Because this is the most well designed and assorted dog store in Berlin, thanks to the meticulous selection of products and the spacious presentation. It’s my favorite, and I wanna say that of my mutt Nico. She loves it here, also because she’s showered with all the attention and the treats of the super friendly and knowledgable staff.
They carry a big assortment of natural dog food – kibble, wet food, as well as raw meals – all by small, trusted suppliers like Paul und Paulina, a Bavarian supplier I get all my meat from because the delivery is super easy and the meat is the best quality I found on the dog meat market. Plus small scale enterprises like Edenfood, Paul’s Beute, Escapure, and Hirtengold. I find this to be the highest quality selection of dog food in Berlin.
Besides these necessary nourishments, Sonnenberg has a giant bar of snacks, all from their own trustworthy sources – which is probs Nico’s most loved part of the shop. Also because Sonnenberg has their own range of treats, from dried lamb’s lung, to goat’s udder, chicken necks, duck’s stomach and more parts of animals that would otherwise end up in the trash. I’ve also rarely seen a wet food selection as big as here, from chicken to hering, many of them organic, which is still not easy to find. Next to cans, they also have wet food in preserved glasses, a smaller assortment of kibble, and all the supplements you can think of.
There’re obviously also all the toys, from plush steaks, frogs, and crocodiles, to hemp tug toys, and balls in every shape and form. Plus leashes and collars, blankets, travel bags, cosmetics, bowls, and boxes. Their dog bed selection is one of the biggest in Berlin, great for when you want to have your pup test the bed before you splurge on it. They’re selling Berlin’s own Cloud 7, British Mungo and Maud, and more affordable choices.
As I said, a must for any spoiled pup.
