leaves on the grass in berlin autumn

Seriously: Ten New Food Spots We Have To Try This Autumn

It’s Autumn, you guys. So it’s time for loads of fomo before winter starts, plus: enjoying how the city comes back to life after a sleepy, yet not so hot summer. The Berlin restaurant scene is thriving, to say the least, there are places opening up left and right, many copycats, some overly ambitious lacking a foundation, but obviously also loads of great one who will push the boundaries and redefine what it takes to open a food place in the city. I’m definitely looking forward to trying all of these, because as usual, this is a list of promising new openings that I put on my to-eat-list for this season. In case you’re looking for even more, check the list for this summer or even spring! And if you’re looking for my current overall favourites in Berlin – click here. Enjoy, and please leave more tips in the comments.

Quiche and salad at bistro Bichou in Neukölln

French Bistro in Neukölln: Bichou

I’m not a quiche-person. One too many times, I was served dried out, overly eggy mixtures with small bits of veggies on top of a bland pastry in a café. And I bet you’ve had that experience too – quiche is the lazy cook’s excuse for lunch. But it actually isn’t – the pastry can be tasty, buttery, and crunchy, the filling bursting with flavors, melting in your mouth. And this small gem in a Neukölln side street ist very, very good at exactly that.

Seriously: The Best Places to Eat in Berlin Right Now

In celebration of the relaunch of the map of this very blog, I decided to write “one of those articles”, a boiled down list of current favorite places to eat in this very city. Because of course these are the questions I receive the most: What’s your favorite restaurant? What’s the best place for sweets? Where do I get the best brunch? What’s the best ice cream? And yes, I do have answers. Very personal, subjective ones, that is. So this is not a final list, nor one that claims to be exhaustive, or timeless. I’ve only added brick-and-mortar places, no pop-ups, no trucks, no supper clubs. And there’s no hierarchy. But seriously, if I had to tell you 10 of my favorites, these are it.
