Happening Soon: The Ice Cream Market

Guys, it’s almost time.
Time to replace breakfast, brunch, lunch, teatime and dinner with the best treat of summer: ice cream. This Saturday This is Jane Wayne, mint & berry and myself will host the first Ice Cream Market at Haubentaucher. This means hours and hours of frozen delight, fun in the sun and splashing in the pool. Yes, the pool is real and big and swimmable, so pack your towels, bring your extra ice-cream-stomach and read on to find out who’s serving us sweet, sweet pleasures!

This post and the ice cream market are made in cooperation with mint&berry.

Food in Berlin: Industry Standard

I’ve been looking forward to eating in this restaurant on Sonnenallee in Neukölln for a long time. Not only because it’s been on the list of the 10 restaurants I want to try this Spring, but mainly because people have been raving about it, asking if I’ve already been, how I liked it, etc. With some of them even adding that they really wanted me to like this place. And… I do. I don’t only like it, I downright fell in love with their food. With their beautiful radishes, their tempura lemon (!) and their divine veggie bacon… I loved it! And I am pretty sure you will too.

Breakfast in Berlin: Beuster

This is a bar, right? Beuster Bar is the epitome of those bars on Weserstraße that look just like you would think a recently opened bar on Weserstraße would look like. But there’s one difference – they’re serving brunch on weekends. And since it’s a real bar, they’re not only serving poached eggs and pancakes, but – wait for it – cocktails! Green Bloody Marys, for example. With cilantro, and bacon. They put bacon on everything, by the way. Even on the pancakes! Read on…

Lunch in Mitte: The Store Kitchen

This one placed on my list of ten new places you need to try, but has actually been on my to-eat-list much longer. Precisely since the first pictures of their complex salads made by the two chefs, Johnnie Collins and Tommy Tannock hit my instagram feed. Both equipped with rockstar-names, both from UK, both very dedicated foodies, and you already know at least one of them: Tommy is one of the founders of street foodie party Bite Club.
What they serve up in The Store Kitchen is what I want to eat for lunch literally any day, and it’s actually very close to how I like to cook myself. However, I rarely manage to do one of those plates, not even thinking of making more than one variety, and at The Store Kitchen you can choose out of a selection of seven! Creative salads, that is.

Street Food in Berlin: Bite Club

Beyond doubt, there’s been somewhat of a street food craze happening in our lovely small town of Berlin. It feels like everyone and there mom now does a street food stall, every mall has a street food court and every day of the week can be spend on a street food market. However, the success of a street food event is decidedly depending on the food quality of its vendors, and since Berlin is still new in the food business, there are only so many good chefs making delicious and street appropriate food, consequently, not every event applying the much coveted street food label to itself has managed to create a worth while foodie experience. Next to my forever favorite event Street Food Thursday, there’s one serious contender for the crown: Bite Club. The outdoor market is back on its original turf, and has assembled amazing talent, making the club better than ever! Enjoy my favs (and I haven’t even tried them all) and mark your calendars with June 5th for the next Bite Club!
