And we’re back! Did you miss us and our lovely grilled patties and soft buns? Did you think we were done with the burger-fun? Seriously? Obviously, we weren’t, Burgers & Hip Hop is alive and well and will get even better this year with loads of new additions coming your way… But we’re postponing those for the spring time and will celebrate a very classic feast this Saturday at our beloved home Prince Charles! So make sure you come and fill your winter-belly with deliciousness and shake it off later.

It’s not advisable to just walk into any Indian restaurant in Berlin. 99% of them are shit. Seriously, Indian food is badly represented in Berlin, but at the same time it’s almost annoyingly present – there are hundreds of places serving bland heavy-cream-curries in heavy-orange-tinted atmosphere. I stopped trying a long time ago and just settled with the fact that there’s none (there wasn’t even a tag for it on this very blog). However, I obviously wasn’t the only one suffering from the lack of tasty paneer – end of last year Prenzlauer Berg welcomed a beautiful addition: South-Indian street food at Chutnify!
It seems as if the artist Paul Czerlitzki carefully tinted the walls with black chalk – a two-metre-high monochrome frieze runs around the walls of Johann König’s austere gallery space for Czerlitzki’s new show ANNA (on view until Feb 21st). Actually, the restrained yet striking work was created by applying black acrylic paint through canvas onto the walls, the results being depictions of the canvas structure with only a contingent influence by the artist.
My repeated complains about the lack of good breakfast food in our beloved hometown seem to have worked and more and more local restaurateurs have taken on the challenge. The newest addition to my breakfast-love-list is Silo, the pretty Aussie café in Friedrichshain, serving delicious baked eggs, avocado on toast and a sweet dish that will get you out of bed and onto the East-bound train any morning.
Isn’t it weird how quick we are to establish routines and stick to our known routes? Seems like a particular problem when it comes to lunch on office-days. I moved my office to Kreuzberg end of 2013, to an area with a plethora of options to try and it still took me until two weeks ago to eat at Vabrique. It was about time.
