Sababa is one of my favorite lunch spots in Mitte, although eating here usually means getting quite tired after, but in a very good and cosy way since your belly is filled with delicious food. Their hummus is excellent, I’d even say it’s the best you can get in Mitte. While sometimes I am not as convinced when re-visiting a place, Sababa instantly went on my favorites list after I first went and remained there ever since. A great news for those who aren’t coming by Mitte very often is that they’re now also taking part in Street Food Thursday with dainty vegan hummus dishes.

This is the final part of my food-adventures in New York City, I am on my way back to Berlin. Although the autumnal Brooklyn sun has been very good to us and the Berlin November weather is living up to its fame, I am quite okay with coming back. Also because I can go back to my normal eating habits and don’t feel pressured by a never-ending foursquare to-eat list. Thanks to organizing my schedule better than in the first days, I managed to cross quite some off in the last days, read about them here.

The first part about eating in New York City way written before I moved to Brooklyn, where everything just got better and I experienced some seriously good food moments. Although I must admit the cover photo of this article was taken in the Lower East Side, of all places, so this prejudice of Brooklyn being the better Manhattan is actually just a cliché. But have a look:
I am in New York for two weeks and sadly, I haven’t yet managed to experience a food-revelation in the big city. I’ve had good food, very good, but nothing as mind-boggling as the Thai food I had in London, for instance. Maybe that’s because I haven’t (yet) laid my focus on Asian food over here. Nevertheless, this is the first part of my very good food experiences.
