I was a bit off the last days because I worked on other projects, I still ate and that’s why this Eats has six places for your consideration. 2016 has been a very long year, and oftentimes not a pretty one. And it still has four days left, so I won’t bid farewell too soon (to not give it any ideas!), but it’s about time for my annual report of what’s been most popular on this very blog. Because for the very limited world of this humble blog, it’s been a good year. Not only did we celebrate ten years of it: first with a lavish birthday dinner, and then with a grande breakfast market, but there was also the second edition of The Map, a very successful third clothing donation rally, loads of fun times at Burgers & Hip Hop, and a dessert-only extravaganza. I’ve enjoyed it a lot to be able to work on this outlet describing Berlin’s greatness, and am more than proud that enough people are interested reading my musings.
It’s minus way too many degrees out there, and while the snow is looking lovely and crisp, and the sun is doing its best to keep the vitamin d flowing, it’s just incredibly cold. So who wants soup! I do! Every night, to be honest. Bowls, bowls, all kinds of bowls. Japanese, Chinese, Indonesian, Turkish, Korean, whatever broth, noodles, veggies, pastes, I’m in!

If you’re asking: what even are Manti? You’ll be proving my point that Turkish food is still not appreciated widely enough in Berlin. We (must) have a plethora of places serving the most delicious stuff, yet, I don’t find them celebrated enough (except that mishmash of a sandwich called Döner). Here to convince you are Manti, a turkish Ravioli or dumpling. Eat them at this Anatolian place in Neukölln, filled with meat or potato, served with yoghurt sauce and a paprika butter, and you will understand.
