Where to: Donate Clothes in Berlin

Unfortunately, my clothing donation drive “Warm Up” will take a break this year due to … you know why. I am very sad about this, it would’ve been no. 7, we would have collected a lot, and the organisations are already missing out on a lot of donations this year. And it was always a super fun event to get together and see everyone before we disperse for the holidays… However, you can still donate your unworn winter warmers! Here’s a list of local places looking for donations. Some of them will distribute them for free to people in need, while others will sell them in their shops for a little money, which they use to keep up their charity work. None of these are for profit, or sell their clothes in other countries etc. etc. I have also added some free shops, where everything is given away to anyone for free.
As always, only donate clean & intact clothing, only bring what the organisations ask for (most times it’s seasonal items since few of them have storage space & men’s clothing is always in higher demand than women’s), and don’t dump your donations in front of closed doors. Especially now during the lockdown, it’s best to call / email before donating to find out how and what to donate.

Recap & Winners: Warm Up #6

I am still floored from yesterday’s Warm Up at Markthalle Neun! You came out! You donated! We doubled the amount from last year and collected over 780 pieces of clothing as well as 113 pairs of shoes! And an additional 123 Euro! WOOOOW! We gave out over 1000 lottery tickets to over 170 people and filled over 50 boxes from our logistics partner Boxie24.com with over 200 coats and jackets, 359 sweaters, 218 pants and 38 tents, sleeping bags, or sleeping mats! So proud of you, really!!
This is a huge help for Moabit Hilft e.V., who will distribute all donations in Berlin and beyond.
Before we get to listing the winners of the amazing prizes, I also want to thank my lovely helpers Fanette, Lisette, Lucy, Majeed, Mariam, Mosch, Sandy! And a special shout-out to Helen Amiri, who helped find the prize sponsors. Now read on to see whether you won!

Coming Up: Warm Up #6!!

So here’s the deal: we’re collecting winter warmers for people in need, and I assume most of you reading this have one or three winter items to spare at home, maybe you’re even currently thinking about where to donate that skiing jacket you’ll never use. This year, just bring it to our stand at Markthalle Neun’s Merry Markthalle on December 15th. And yes, I’ve got some fabulous rewards for your effort.

Coming Up: Warm Up 5

Hope you had a nice first wintry weekend with loads of cosy blankets, hot beverages and a working heating. Icy temperatures can be so much fun! If you have the funds to make them so. Not everyone is so lucky to be able to afford the most insulating jacket or the thickest boots to enjoy below zero, especially if you’re in a situation that doesn’t allow you to work or face obstacles you’re currently not able to remove. And I assume most of you reading this have one or three winter items to spare at home, maybe you’re even currently thinking about where to donate that skiing jacket you’ll never use. For the fifth time, I’ll be collecting winter warmers to donate to people in need Warm Up #5. This year, it’s happening on December 16th at Markthalle Neun’s Breakfast Market. And yes, I’ve got some fabulous rewards for your effort.
